Submission Types
-
Original Research
Original Research papers are expected to adhere to rigorous scientific methodologies, maintain ethical standards, and clearly communicate the research process and findings. Original Research papers must include an abstract, an introduction, figures and/or tables regarding findings, sections with subheadings, and a maximum of 100 references. Please view this example below for more information on our guidelines.
-
Scientific Review Articles
Scientific Review Articles are expected to provide a comprehensive and critical analysis of existing research studies on a specific topic. Unlike original research papers that present new findings, review articles summarize, evaluate, and synthesize existing literature to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge or abstraction in a particular field. Scientific Review Articles must include an abstract, an introduction, and a minimum of 15 references. Please view this example below for more information.
-
Technical Reviews
Technical Reviews are papers that discuss other research published in BioScope or other accredited academic journals within the previous months. These papers are expected to assess research design, experimental methods, data collection and analysis, interpretation of results, and the overall contribution of the work to the existing body of knowledge. Please view this example below for more guideline information and requirements.
-
Other
Note that we also accept Media, Conference Abstracts, Research Posters, Letters, Raw DNA Data, Transcriptome Data, other forms of Gene Expression Data, Protein-Protein Interaction Data, and much more. However, we publish a limited number of these submissions per issue. For more submission guideline information for your research, please contact us below.
Publishable Topics
We at Bioscope | The Journal of Biological and Biomedical Sciences strongly encourage all students to submit their research for possible publication, especially if their project pertains to general sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, and/or biology. Please note that the research areas listed are not exhaustive and we welcome submissions from other disciplines as well.
